Sweetology is opening another location in O’Fallon, Missouri, in January, 2020, in the shopping plaza at Hutchings Farm, 2550 Highway K, O’Fallon, MO 63366. The three thousand square-foot new store will serve as Sweetology’s national hub as they grow operations to include in-house baking, expanded product line, eCommerce and DIY cookie and cupcake decorating kits available on their website at www.sweetology.com. Founder, Kara Newmark, believes this is the next step to position Sweetology to focus on its combined strategy of leveraging both traditional brick and mortar retail locations with eCommerce to take advantage of the transitioning retail market.

Established in 2014, Sweetology introduced St. Louis to the first dedicated entertainment retail venue centered around the decoration of cakes, cookies, and cupcakes. Guests are welcomed to drop in and decorate a cake, cupcakes, or cookies anytime without an appointment, but parties, cake decorating classes, and the To-Go Cupcake Bar are also popular at Sweetology. In addition to adult decorating classes, Sweetology offers children’s programming, including summer camp, corporate team building events, and custom cakes, cookies, and cupcakes. Guests also enjoy a wide selection of beverages from their tea and coffee bar, as well as wine, beer and cocktail options.

The debut of the O’Fallon location, with its fully appointed commercial kitchen, sets the stage for Sweetology to craft and produce its own unique product line of cakes, cookies, cupcakes, and real buttercream frosting. Based on years of customer feedback and a desire to be current with local and industry trends, Sweetology sees this as an exciting opportunity. Creating their product line to include new flavor profiles and the addition of baking classes are a natural fit as the company grows.

“After five years of honing the operations and learning how to perfect the Sweetology experience, moving to O’Fallon is the next big step to scaling Sweetology to become a national brand,” says founder and president Kara Newmark. “We are now in a position to replicate the model.  We have been working with a firm in Cincinnati for the past year that will allow us to outsource the entire store build out for substantially less capital and on a much more accelerated pace.  After 5+ years, we are ready to really scale the model and create a national brand.
