It’s that time of year again—sending kids back to school with their lunch boxes, homework, and heap of school supplies that seem to keep building up as the year goes on. We know how difficult it can be to get caught up in our day-to-day lives and forget to take a little time to have some fun and enjoy ourselves.
Summer is short in St. Louis, but that doesn’t mean the upcoming school year won’t be any less exciting. We are eager to announce that the after-school decorating sessions are here! Wednesdays, from 3:30-5:30 p.m. for kids ages 8 and up. During these events, we will be teaching basic cake decorating techniques as well as encouraging the kids to let their creative ideas take flight with the various tools and mediums available. After-school decorating will continue every Wednesday night—the perfect time for a mid-week break in the big city.
But the fun doesn’t stop there! Decorating classes will also take place (almost!) every Sunday with a different decorating theme. In these classes, you’ll learn how to level and frost a cake just like a professional, while also creating a fondant topper that corresponds to the theme. Don’t worry—you’ll still be able to put your own spin on your creation. After all, the best sweets are originals! During the fall months, we’ll also be exploring other inspiring ideas and themes, such as crafting offset circles out of fondant, piping intricate cake borders, and sculpting fondant flowers and bows. You’ll feel like a professional cake decorator in no time!
